Walnut Springs balances preservation with enrichment of habitat through thoughtful planning of a limited number
homesteads. More than a decade ago, Walnut Springs set in place a Wildlife Management Plan which nurtures the
land, provides for a healthy herd of Texas longhorn cattle, and monitors and manages native species populations.
Owners are invited to join in annual activities such as census counts and guided hunts. Tax savings may be passed
down to each individual owner participating in the wildlife management plan in accordance with the overall plan for
Walnut Springs approved by the Texas Parks & Wildlife and Blanco County.
Trophy bass fishing is available on stocked ponds throughout the ranch. A short drive on the trails will access
any of the six ponds. Equipment, rod, reels and bait are also available onsite and a fishing trip can be booked
through the Concierge service for beginner anglers. Ranch Management works with professional fisheries to ensure the
highest quality fish populations.
